Well, the first news on this blog is that we have a Blog. Self-evident if you are reading this, but important just the same. We want to develop this into several themed areas including 2B-related news, views on landscape (could be taken many ways) and technical stuff.
It deliberately doesn't look too bloggy - we wanted to keep the 2B site styling and not get the ubiquitous Wordpress blues. Nice simple Content Management System (CMS) in use - we are excited about this as it now allows us to offer an easy CMS system for website clients.
- 2B News will include project and website updates;
- Landscape Views may include non-commercial work we are involved in, including the Landscape Institute Yorkshire and Humber Branch, The Yorkshire Landscape Forum, and Hull and East Yorkshire Woodlands (HEYwoods), as well as just "views of landscape";
- Technical: not sure yet! One thing that constantly surprises me is how many people are taken in by email scams, phishing etc. These things aren't too hard to spot provided you assume that a) all email is potentially hostile (even when you think you know where it has come from) and b) you look "behind the code" - that is check that the visible addresses match or don't match the actual addresses. Oh, and don't run any attachments unless you are certain about them, and even then, not always... phew - more to follow.
