Hull Sustainability Consortium (HSC) was formed in 2001 when 2B received a tender for a feasibility study into green enterprise options in Bransholme, Hull. Realising that this was beyond the remit of landscape architects alone, we brought together a team of independent consultancies, including two environmental managers, a town planner and an arborist/urban forester. Having successfully delivered the Report, HSC continues to assist the Bransholme Green Enterprise Project.

Hull Sustainability Consortium combines a particular set of environmentally-related professional skills and experience to meet the needs of an area of ever-increasing significance: sustainable solutions for environment, business and community.

HSC (well, four of us) discussing another project for our combined skills.  Since 2003, HSC has been assisting Yorkshire Forward and Groundwork with the Yorkshire Green Business Park programme.

     The team currently comprises:

  • The Planning Cooperative: experienced town planners, specialising in strategic and sustainability issues;
  • Environmental Strategies Ltd: environmental managers with particular knowledge of energy issues
  • Humber Resource Efficiency Centre: environmental managers with particular knowledge of waste and recycling issues
  • Pure Solar:  an independent company offering renewable energy consulting services specialising in solar power systems, solar water heating, geothermal heating and cooling, and ground and air source heat pumps.
  • Waller Tree Consulting: tree and urban forestry consultants
  • 2B Landscape Consultancy


Landscape assessments and designs have contributed to detailed sustainability reviews and recommendations for business parks across Yorkshire.
