2B was asked by Groundwork Selby to design, detail and contract manage a proposal to create a Riverside Walk, along the banks of the River Wharfe, in the famous Yorkshire brewing town of Tadcaster. The aim was to create a signed and leafleted walk, with improved access to as many sections as possible.

2B reviewed the initial proposals, produced working drawings and tender documents, and managed the tender and subsequent contract.  There was considerable consultation and cooperation with Tadcaster Town Council and North Yorkshire County Council, to get the best scheme out of the available budget.

Elizabeth applied a dogged (some might say 'terrier-like') determination to negotiating access and cooperation with landowners and statutory authorities, and the end result was hailed by Tadcaster Town Council as being a great success -  'against all odds'.

As well as the improved and coherent sign system, inclusive access was greatly improved along the length of the walk, particularly by surfacing improvements and the use of wide-access kissing gates to replace stiles.  It has to be said that these were welcomed by the anglers as much as anybody!
