Estimates
These can be produced from sketch or detailed designs to provide cost guidance. Of course, estimates are only ever that - estimates - but they can be simple or sophisticated, as the project requires.
Tender Documents
Tender documents bring together all the detailed design drawings into one package, together with materials specifications, bill of quantities and a form of contract. Detailed drawings can be produced to cover detailed construction issues.
The tender documents provide the client and tenderers with:-
- a clearly understood and comparable tender
- reliable, up-to-date specifications using NBS Landscape
- known quantities, because we use industry-standard measurement methods
- a known form of contract covering the main issues likely to arise in landscape work
- cost management prior to the tender being issued.

Victoria Dock Website
Victoria Dock Planning & Contract Website
A temporary part of our website hosted the full range of proposals drawings (maps and board designs). At Tender stage, we placed all the tender documents in a secure download location, with drawings and specifications in PDF format and the Bill of Quantities as a spreadsheet with predefined formulae. As a result, it was easy for the tenderers to access the drawings and complete the Bill of Quantities. They only printed what was required; a great deal of paper was saved; and we obtained a fast and accurate tender turnaround.

Garths Housing Regeneration
Garths Housing Regeneration
This Housing Regeneration project, for Hull City Council, had a value of around £500,000. The tender documents were produced in accordance with the Council's standard methods, and the tender was let to larger local contractors, and successfully managed by 2B (see
Hardworks).

South Humber Bank for NGC
South Humber Bank for NGC
This was a significant mitigation planting scheme, with a value just under £1 million, and covering a length of around 30km across North Lincolnshire (see also
Softworks). Given the size of the project, it was decided to split the tender into three seperate but simultaneous contracts, which were subsequently let to three contractors. This approach proved its worth when, during the course of the contract, one of them unfortunately went into receivership. We were able to reallocate the work to one of the other contractors.
