HEYWoods Rebranded as Humber Forest
26 Jul 2023 14:58     A+ | a-
2B is proactive in using our unique skill set as Landscape Architects to assist local environmental initiatives to improve our communities.

One of those that we are currently working with (and have been working with since 2006) is the Humber Forest. The Humber Forest is the new name for HEYWoods, part of the wider Northern Forest initiative. The Humber Forest aims to be more inclusive of the surrounding areas (including Lincolnshire, where our Hannah has helped to set up North Lincolnshire Woodland Trust!)

The key aim of the Humber Forest is to plant trees within the East Riding landscape, which is currently dominated by intensive agriculture.

We have contributed by helping to develop the Humber Forest's Northern Forest strategy, defining what the Northern Forest would look like in the Humber region.

2B has played a part in helping to create resilient woodlands in the face of climate change. More people are becoming aware of how important woodlands are for biodiversity, and in offsetting severe weather events caused by climate change, such as flooding.
